Neck Taffeta

Black boots with a brown dress?
I have purchased a brown dress for our Christmas party this weekend. It’s just past the knee, shiny (almost taffeta looking?), sleeveless, v-neck, with layers of ruffles all the way down (Hmmm, doesn’t sound very attractive here does it?? I promise, it’s very cute!). I have bought 2 pairs of tights as I’m not sure which to wear, but both in brown (one opaque, and the other more like a think pantyhose with a slight pattern). I need to know if I should wear my brown open toed shoes, my brown dressy sandals, or my black knee high boots with it? I have to wear the tights, and I don’t have the cash to purchase any new shoes (it is Christmas time!). Please help me!
So tights are okay with open toed shoes? I wasn’t sure so was leaning towards the boots. Thank you so much to those who have answered already and to those that will!
For the shoes question:
If those are your only choices, go with the brown open toed shoes. Don’t wear the black boots.
The hosiery will depend on the pattern you have on the pantyhose. If I may venture a bit (sorry!)… Ideally, for open toed shoes, I’d go with non-patterned pantyhose. But since you only have patterned pantyhose, be aware that some patterns can look funky at the toes when exposed. This is because the legs are like a blank canvas for the pattern; at the toes, all kinds of other things are going on.
For the hosiery question:
If the pattern is on the subtle side, it may be okay. Otherwise, try to get non-patterned pantyhose. Don’t go with the brown opaque tights–they will make you over-saturated with brown.
